How to Apply

Finding the right fit for your gap year placement is not quite the same as looking for a job where you might want to send as many applications as possible. You need to consider what type of placement would you like to serve in as well as what you can bring to that organisation and what can you realistically commit to.

Take some time to reflect and pray before deciding which organisations to apply to. It may help to put your thoughts on paper. Make a list of your gifts and how you think you could best use them as well as practical questions such as the length of service can you commit to. Do you think you can adjust to the challenges of community life? What will your faith bring to a project and how do you see it growing?

Search for suitable placements using the search function on this site. Follow the links for more details. If the organization has a website or provides other information, then study it carefully and see if this work might be for you.

Contact details for applications are via the individual organisations. Each organisation will reply to enquiries with information and application forms.

Please do not make 'blanket' applications. We recommend that you do not apply to more than two or three organisations at a time. Have a timescale in mind and note when interview dates are so that should it be the case that your application does not result in a confirmed offer of a placement, you can then apply to another.

Please mention catholicgapyear.com when making applications.
